The enchanting, the alluring, Lilian Stardust!
Boise's Fan dance artiste
Creating magic with feathers
Lilian uses feather fans of several styles and colors as well as paper fans, silk fans and even recycled materials. The mythical...
A Weeki Wachee trained mermaid bringing the water element to her performances when ever possible. Whether it's a video shoot under water, or performing as a mermaid at special events.
You may have caught a glimpse of this mermaid at JUMP Boise's Illumibrate event 2019.
A herstory in making
Behind the Fans
"My goal as a performer...
Is to bring a sense of magic to the audience members watching. You know that chill sensation, or a tear. I believe we are all stars, here expressing ourselves as humans for a while. Art gives me that reminder that today is a good day to be present, to create and to love. To me, that is Lilian Stardust's goal. Not a crown or a title. I want to make someone feel. Feel sexy, empowered, a give back to the community and establish a sense of connection."

The transformation of fire
A fire starter
Pictured here in 2003, chose the stage name Firefly. A name reminiscent of her youth. She took to the streets and performed as a fire dancer at night for the city of Boise. One of the first to perform indoors with fire, in Boise venues. As well as many other events such as Camp Rainbow Gold.
Boise's first burlesque troupe
Kitty club burlesque 2004
This group was formed in a garage in the fall of 2004. The first show was held for New years Eve. She left in late 2006 to pursue other things. Unsure about where burlesque was taking her in a town so conservative. She wound up to continually get booked!
A solo project
Green dagger burlesque
Moving on as Absinthia Verre as a growing stage persona. Kelly found the brief need to bring on a few more performers into her solo project and it was known as The Green Dagger burlesque. Founded in 2007 purely because Boise wanted more burlesque! Not long after the first show, it petered out as the two ladies added, could not get along. Kelly mentioned "It ( The green dagger) was complicated as I only wanted to perform, they wanted to fight."
What began as a benefit
Red light variety show was born
"Solo gigs were there, but difficult to run alone, and Boise was still not sure about Burlesque. It made Bar owners nervous." Kelly mentions, At this time there were a couple of groups in Boise and of course there was rivalry and falling outs. That's when the founder of Red light (Anne McDonald) AKA Frankly Frankie, called her up & asked if she would be in this new project for A.L.P.H.A. in 2008.
A one night performance and "we'll see where this goes", sort of gig. Luckily the crowd loved RLVS and asked " when was the next show?"Teaching burlesque
Red light opens new doors to burlesque
Ophidia Studio begins approx. 2010 and "my co worker in Red light asks if I would be the first instructor at Ophidia to teach chair dancing workshops. At the time in my performance career, I had taken a liking to the cabaret feel of chair dance." This, over the next 2 years developed in to a burlesque workout class and private lessons. "The burlesque scene was still newer, as many groups would form and not last long. It was tough to continue teaching with out the support."
Red light today
Red light makes its home venue the Visual Arts Collective in Garden City.
"They continue to grow and change. The cast went from 14 members in its first year down to 7 currently. Lives happen and people needed to tend to other things, thus bringing change in the group" Kelly notes. With a theater style setting, & 3 seasonal shows a year. A collaborative of artists make the shows happen. They have been likened to shows in Vegas and even the beautiful Cirque shows with amazing acrobats.
